A Song for my Sally
In the meadow,
I feel the wind.
Beneath the shadow,
Of two mountain twins.
In the valley,
Long forgotten,
I see my Sally,
Her hair like cotton.
I wish she'd see me
But I ask too much,
She's only a ghost,
That I fear to touch.
So my strength to rally,
And I try to be brave.
I sing to my Sally,
As I sit by her grave.
I feel the wind.
Beneath the shadow,
Of two mountain twins.
In the valley,
Long forgotten,
I see my Sally,
Her hair like cotton.
I wish she'd see me
But I ask too much,
She's only a ghost,
That I fear to touch.
So my strength to rally,
And I try to be brave.
I sing to my Sally,
As I sit by her grave.
