Through The Looking Glass
I climb from the outside in –Alice--
The name is burnt on my skin;
Sitting here in my wonderland,
I feel my consciousness expand,
The further I travel;
The deeper I go;
such a strange and alien land;
I’m balancing on the precipice,
The edge,
With a loaded dice,
Somewhere between a dream and reality;
There I found one wily cat grinning from ear to ear,
Telling me every nothing I wanted to hear,
Holding his web of nonsensical sanity,
Forked roads are splitting in front of me;
Through dew stained lines I see her face,
A beautiful disease of the human race,
The queen of twisted hearts,
Playing her game,
In a chemical masquerade;
There’s no form,
No motion,
Mind’s ablaze,
Free falling in a fiery maze
Through the keyhole;
Mind's ablaze;
Spinning and spiralling,
Mirror, smoke, haze,
The mad hatter holds me
In that ghoulish gaze;
Thoughts are flowing,
Time is fading;
Spinning and spiralling;
Hot on the white rabbit’s trail;
Just within reach,
Just out of touch,
The flash of his white bob tail.
