Unchanged

I cut my hair
I changed my name
and yet you found me still
unchanged

I stole a lightning bolt from the sky
and left it's scar in both my eyes
and yet you saw the tattoo in my heart
and your parted lips called me strange

I broke my nails
and painted my skin
and yet you looked for the hollow within
and took off the charm bracelet where my colour still changed

We saw each other without consent
both indifferent with our discontent
and every winter when things were cold
we wished for warmth and comfort and old familiarity from each other
slightly changed and strange and yet, strangely, just the same
