Fractals
It's not until the dire straights
That you find what you are willing to die for.
And then you wish you were heartless
Instead of heartbroken.
If it's not there, it can't be broken;
But the truth is that everything can break.
Like that shield you have keeping your tears back
When a baby hugs you like they've been starved of compassion.
Like a hardcore bitch that's just changed her ways.
Some saying about 'being under my thumb'.
Hindsight is always 20/10, but it'll be different this time.
I just gotta figure out how to get going.
My break lights seem to be staying on though.
Maybe it's just figuring out how to love a little less,
Like kicking a habit with tolerable withdrawals.
Kicking the habit til it breaks.
Til the bones crack.
The hair splits.
The heart splinters.
And another piece is gone,
But you still found that one thing worth dying for.
Just too selfish to die for her
Because I could fix her before she breaks.
That you find what you are willing to die for.
And then you wish you were heartless
Instead of heartbroken.
If it's not there, it can't be broken;
But the truth is that everything can break.
Like that shield you have keeping your tears back
When a baby hugs you like they've been starved of compassion.
Like a hardcore bitch that's just changed her ways.
