Different definitions

Remember, you can love and you can hate
but our fate- we won’t ever let you shape
the paradox of free men walking in a slave state
stand strong & steady- even when lives they take
apparently they haven’t realized what’s at stake
one day they will- but it’ll be too late- that’s fate
we got different definitions of what is great
but truth is truth and that you cannot escape
haters will tell you what you can & can’t make
but they’re failures who saw their dreams break
& now they’re dying to see you make a mistake  
no lying- a liar is always smiling- like a snake

‘dark and desperate deeds disturb the dream’
politicians prostitute themselves, like a fiend
pick up paper & pen, gotta let off some steam
a sinner senses the unseen, looking for the Deen
let me tell you this, the world is your scene
but once the show is over, nothing’s left but a scream  
so ‘carpe diem’, before it’s too late to redeem

we got different definitions, so tell me what is perfect
we see life from different positions, so is it worth it
but don’t worry- glory- befalls him who deserves it
so don’t put a crown on a clown and expect a king
