The Blade
Every day
another struggle.
Demons emerge from
shadows in every corner;
threaten to suffocate me.
Every day
the pain increases
and my heart beats
in rhythm with
each unbearable second.
Every day
I slice deeper
to numb the ache
in my soul since you left.
The numbness abandons
me, the slice of each dip
of the blade is what I live for.
Every day
I wish I could go where
I want to;
where I need.
But I know it will only
raise questions,
send me far away
where blades are forbidden.
Every day
I analyze the veins
on my wrist,
wondering how much blood
could be spent,
how deep I could go.
Could I be strong enough
to end this hell forever?
another struggle.
Demons emerge from
shadows in every corner;
threaten to suffocate me.
Every day
the pain increases
and my heart beats
in rhythm with
each unbearable second.
Every day
I slice deeper
to numb the ache
in my soul since you left.
The numbness abandons
me, the slice of each dip
of the blade is what I live for.
Every day
I wish I could go where
I want to;
where I need.
But I know it will only
raise questions,
send me far away
where blades are forbidden.
Every day
I analyze the veins
on my wrist,
wondering how much blood
could be spent,
how deep I could go.
Could I be strong enough
to end this hell forever?
