Fireworks

It spread across the sky
In a golden arc
Bleeding red and blue
Green wildfire
And orange flame
Sonic boom after
Boom as they rose higher
Then closer then
Farther away

I watched the lights
Reflecting in my eyes
Lights of freedom
And liberty
And joy
I reveled in the
Trembling and as
I watched my mind
Crossed the pond

And I thought of you.
