Women Pastors, Is It Biblical?
"Pastor" means shepherd.
Does the Bible speak of woman shepherds?
Rachel was a shepherdess(Genesis 29.6-9).
It says, "Here is Laban's daughter Rachel,
coming with the sheep" that she was tending.
Yes, the Bible has women acting as shepherds,
And so,by extention, as pastors.
The pastor is over the congregation
Like Christ in heaven is above the Church.
But Christ is accompanied by whom,
The Church in the third heaven,
"The great cloud of witnesses"
That Paul the Apostle speaks of(Hebrews 12.1),
The angelic throng of guardians.
If shepherds are guardians, and
If the angelic beings(the Church) are our guardians,
Then they are a collective pastor/shepherd to us.
But the Church in heaven is a woman,a wife figure.
Thus this heavenly Shepherd equals a woman
So here again we have an example
of a female shepherd/pastor.
So, yes, female pastors have a Biblical basis!
