Whispers of Perfection
I don't mean
to make it seem
that I think
that you are perfect,
or even that I want,
or expect you to be.
I simply want you to know
that you are perfect to ME.
And in that moment
as I held your eyes in mine,
slipping into their depths
as I pushed myself even deeper,
it was like a chartreuse sunrise
swelling on the horizon
of the breathtaking climax
we climbed together.
In the intimate,
delicate petals
of priceless moments
in the minutes after,
between the breaths,
our hearts and minds
pressed tenderly together
in the words and the laughter
dancing against
the sheen of our
afterglow skin.
And once again
I held perfection in my arms
as I traced my heart
into the center of your chest
to remind you
that it's yours.
to make it seem
that I think
that you are perfect,
or even that I want,
or expect you to be.
I simply want you to know
that you are perfect to ME.
And in that moment
as I held your eyes in mine,
slipping into their depths
as I pushed myself even deeper,
it was like a chartreuse sunrise
swelling on the horizon
of the breathtaking climax
we climbed together.
In the intimate,
delicate petals
of priceless moments
in the minutes after,
between the breaths,
our hearts and minds
pressed tenderly together
in the words and the laughter
dancing against
the sheen of our
afterglow skin.
And once again
I held perfection in my arms
as I traced my heart
into the center of your chest
to remind you
that it's yours.
