- - - MEMENTO MORI - - -
I have witnessed the rise of gods
And beheld the downfall of kings
Sacrifices and tall tales
In the heart of winter
And the birth of spring
My thorn was that I loved too much
I cannot stand to let you go
Even after many eons
When fragile wood splinters
At the end of roads
Softly, softly
I place the rose upon your tomb
And whisper our sacred vow
"Even in bard stories
Our love is true
Throughout times, beneath moons
I remember
My memento mori"
Even in pouring rain, I burn
For a gasp or a whisper
Of her return
I cannot make peace with myself
For her wisp or her spectre
Reminds me of my hell
Her scent drifts by in Autumn storms
Nightly conjuring piercing screams
For which, thou must burn a witch
Fair skin, flaming ginger
Hair shan't leave my dreams
My rage took me to highest peaks
So I could lash out to spires
"Those in Heaven, feel my wrath
I renounce hollow faith
My heart burns like fire!"
I fell through shadows and flame
Forgetting all innocence
Even my name
All that i knew was of my loss
Eternity for a sentence
Such a heavy cost
And now, still now
Softly, softly
I place the rose upon your tomb
And whisper our sacred vow
"Even in bard stories
Our love is true
Throughout times, beneath moons
I remember
My memento mori"
How I wish
For one more kiss
I can't resist
The urge to break
And unmake
The bonds of
This chrysalis
Fires burn
And waters churn
Mirrors breaking
I'm awaiting
Her return
It took me ages to learn
That time is cold in nature
But still, I still
Softly, softly
I place the rose upon your tomb
And whisper our sacred vow
"Even in bard stories
Our love is true
Throughout times, beneath moons
I remember
My memento mori"
