Lost Lenore
One brief candle lights the way
For this gothic lady fair
A long way from the light of day
As she sets foot upon the stair
She just thought she heard a voice
Answering the chirp of a cell phone
Now she simply hasn't any choice
But to descend chilled to the bone
She can feel her reason slip
In a pool of ectoplasm
And she can't seem to get a grip
But succumbs to an orgasm
Poe finds her at the break of dawn
Exhausted on the floor
Sated by some specter's spawn
But murmuring "Forevermore...."

Thanks Gdgurl. It's kind of fun to locate an illustration. Did a Google search for "Gothic Ladies." Quite a gallery turned up.

for the second time today, you have me in a fit of giggles just imagining the look on Poe's face... though mind you, he'd probably have sat down at his writing desk with similar results

Thanks Katja. Poe did his whining with "The Raven." He was loath to come clean regarding the actual reasons for Lenore's departure. Deeply embarrassing!

Maybe Lenore will drop by upon a midnight dreary and liven things up. Thanks John!
