Concrete Rabbit
Sitting here
Under this tree
With this concrete rabbit
Staring back at me
It has been
30 years or more
She brought home
From the hardware store
It's still standing here
with a broken ear
So many years have gone
An angel that has flown
Away too long
I swear sometimes
When that rabbit cries
A piece of my heart dies
Like a poem that has no rhyme
I still wear her ring
Hold on to all it means
I've been alone for so long
She's still my love song
I think of crossing that line
Just to touch her face
I lose my mind
This rabbit fills an empty space
Under this tree
With this concrete rabbit
Staring back at me
It has been
30 years or more
She brought home
From the hardware store
It's still standing here
with a broken ear
So many years have gone
An angel that has flown
Away too long
I swear sometimes
When that rabbit cries
A piece of my heart dies
Like a poem that has no rhyme
I still wear her ring
Hold on to all it means
I've been alone for so long
She's still my love song
I think of crossing that line
Just to touch her face
I lose my mind
This rabbit fills an empty space
