Hard On Myself
I've recently been told that I'm too hard on myself.
Am I?
Is it true?
Do I seem too hard on myself?
You people should know.
You read about my rantings and emotions.
On this underground lot.
So, do I seem too hard on myself?
When I was little there was this teacher.
Whom had a sign on the wall of her classroom.
That had an English rhyme on it that was suppose to help us with grammer.
It went like this:
"Good, better, best never let it rest.
Until your good is better and your better is best."
I remember it since then and I guess I took it to heart.
So now I just know that when something is good, it can be better.
And when something is better, it isn't my best.
And until it's my best I will not rest.
Until I have done my very best.
It's that teacher's fault, and her stupid saying and stupid sign.
That now I expect to be the best at everything I put my mind.
I memorized the saying by heart.
And ever since I've been extremely crytical of myself.
And maybe somewhat hard as well.
