Brief Exchange
When you bring me
Newborn and blushing
To your bed, give me your
Body to clothe my crimson shame
When you wed me
Marry the threads and thimbles
That join ragged sighs and cymbals
With acorns and raw linen
See the resting places, velvet
Hollows for your hands
Roll the pearls the sweetwater
Dancing on your lips
Electric eyes, rolling thunder
Down my thighs
You are created
Backwards, pulled upwards
By my hips
When you love me
Fit your words to my secret places
Because your body knows its way
To mine by now
Take me as is your right
Rise and fall in the expanse before you
Knowing as we bleed into sleep
When you take me
You take me as I am
Newborn and blushing
To your bed, give me your
Body to clothe my crimson shame
When you wed me
Marry the threads and thimbles
That join ragged sighs and cymbals
With acorns and raw linen
See the resting places, velvet
Hollows for your hands
Roll the pearls the sweetwater
Dancing on your lips
Electric eyes, rolling thunder
Down my thighs
You are created
Backwards, pulled upwards
By my hips
When you love me
Fit your words to my secret places
Because your body knows its way
To mine by now
Take me as is your right
Rise and fall in the expanse before you
Knowing as we bleed into sleep
When you take me
You take me as I am
