Mother Mercy

Mercy laughs, on palest wings-
sends me soft, to shallow screams.

In sleep, I'm panting pain, in paw-
creatures known to fend the Sluagh'..
So dark-shiny, hindered feign-
calls mass Hungry, cloud's disdain.

Havoc worn, deadly escapade-
heavy-flying, 'midst night's brigade..
My sunshine fades on wrinkled sheets-
I am fodder, to sharp mouths in feed..

Beasts of sky, roll in my pain-
slaking all, in swallowed stains.
Wings of watered static-feast,
gorging, on my hard-won peace-
Loud taste-tests sip of me-
holding tight, sans the strength..

Pouring gasp, with tip of claw-
desperate flounder, embraced fall..
Torn so tender, from the sky-
fogged forces, on air, in dine..

Head over toes, in full-blown spin-
I weep my last, onto the wind..
The last real sight my eyes concur-
is the crowd fading, to a blur.

A shadow, scattered, shattered-
peeled in strips, all that's mattered..
My turn to drain, in all I've fought-
Mother Mercy? Careth not.
