Save Me (Salvation)
Salvation
(Save Me)
V1: Been on this road for far too long.
All the things I knew were all wrong.
Walking alone,
Being unknown.
Won’t be long before,
Fear shows me the door.
Pre-tied noose, ready,
Loaded gun, deadly.
Soon I’ll be a memory,
So people can laugh at me.
“Cowards way out”, they’ll say.
No sign of doubt, today.
I have no God to pray to.
Redemption I cannot do.
No one can save me,
No one can heal me.
V2: I tried to find salvation in life,
Only relief with a stainless knife.
But the pain doesn't last,
It just brings up the past.
The shooting star I wished upon,
My wish came true early that dawn.
The light I fooled myself to see,
The monster you turned out to be.
You made my world pitch black,
And now I’m coming back.
I wanted you to save me.
I wanted you to heal me!
Chorus: (Save Me) (Sung by choir)
I’m walking down this dark tunnel.
(Save Me)
Won’t be long before the sun’ll
(Save Me)
Rise, and open my eyes,
And show me it’s alright.
And bring my darkened world light.
Bring me salvation,
No more destruction.
Save me Salvation,
Save me Salvation!
V3: (Spoken word, sounds distorted, over the phone)
We all walk down a dark road in our lives.
For some, their road is revealed by the moonlit sky and millions of stars.
Others don’t have a single speck of light, not a single star.
They walk down a pitch black road,
With the risk of falling into a hole and never getting out.
Sadly, those are the people who don’t make it.
They don’t find a reason to climb out, to live.
But everyone has a light at the end of the road,
Though you might not be able to see it,
If you keep walking and mind your steps,
It’ll be there, to show you the road you walked on,
And how you were able to make it to the other side unscathed.
But that light can be anything.
It could be a purpose, a talent, or someone who will never let you fall back
Into that darkness you were able to escape from.
So tonight when you barely make it to your bed,
Thank whatever God you pray to,
And be happy that you made it through one more day,
And that one more day means you are one step closer to the end.
And you will find the light,
Because everyone has it,
Just be strong enough to find it,
And never give up.
Chorus: (Save Me) (Sung by choir)
I’m walking down this dark tunnel.
(Save Me)
Won’t be long before the sun’ll
(Save Me)
Rise, and open my eyes,
And show me it’s alright.
And bring my darkened world light.
Bring me salvation,
No more destruction.
Save me Salvation,
Save me Salvation!
