Odalisque
sure, a man rents a whore for sex. but maybe there was something
more to it. for me, it was avoidance. avoiding love, or the pretense
of it. being there for a woman, right where she wanted me, when I
craved to be somewhere else. the words she needed, sincere & poetic,
were lost in my black heart.
there are bordellos that will satisfy most men: voluptuous ladies skilled
in the ways of perversion. but an artist, a poet, desires something more
absurd. I found it at an opulent house in a desert town.
the girls, seductive & beautiful, took many roles: a Nazi dominatrix,
gypsy dancers, courtesans of ancient Rome, even a Marilyn look-alike.
I chose the harem girl; it allowed me to feel like one of the forty thieves,
or a desolate French legionnaire.
in her boudoir, she reclined like a willing kajira, displaying her amorous
charms, & I was quickly aroused. the heat of her flesh was as intense as
the desert sands. not knowing her name, I called her Mariyah.
I dropped like a paratrooper into the cornflower blue of her eyes. they
were the azure skies I’ve debated the gods under, all the magnificent
seas I’ve never sailed. ensorcelling blue of sky & water.
her veil remained in place, & I barely tasted her lips beneath that
barrier. but the ports of her flesh were opened to ravaging, & I pillaged
her treasures with the violent drama of tempests. neither were her
stunning & delicate feet strangers to my sucking.
as I impaled her, she caressed me in the firm & gentle cradle of her thighs
& arms. under my brutal assaults, I wondered: would she cry? would she
cry for me? it would have been the apex of my dacryphiliac dreams.
when the payoff came, I was transported to Mecca on the trembling
skin of a maidenly goddess…
thoroughly rapturous & still somewhat euphoric, I laid several rude
banknotes at the foot of her bed before I exited.
then she said ‘thanks for the tip, Mister,’ & the spell was broken…
