O England
O England, I have fallen in love with thee;
with thy landscape, buildings of history;
and I have not scratched everything underneath
thy face - what I know to be thy true glory.
O England, I have fallen in love with
thy people; their helpfulness, their smiles and jokes
and open-heartedness and patience with
tourists struggling over pences; these blokes
have no dishonourable intentions when
they say, "I shall take you home, just to make
sure you get there safe and sound, unhurt, well";
and there you are, on the back of his bike.
O England, I shall miss thee much, very so;
but my heart is still in Finland, sweet home.
with thy landscape, buildings of history;
and I have not scratched everything underneath
thy face - what I know to be thy true glory.
