Peripheral Shadows
Just out of focus
A blur on the move
I see peripheral shadows
Moving quickly out of site
I know that its people
Dead people whizzing past
Forbidden to let me focus
To see who they really are
And what they really are
Their traces are getting stronger
I am almost able to shift them
To my centre of vision
Just not quite yet
They give me fright
The fear that once
They appear as they are
I will die and follow them
I will die and become
Some one else’s
Peripheral shadow
A blur on the move
I see peripheral shadows
Moving quickly out of site
I know that its people
Dead people whizzing past
Forbidden to let me focus
To see who they really are
And what they really are
Their traces are getting stronger
I am almost able to shift them
To my centre of vision
Just not quite yet
They give me fright
The fear that once
They appear as they are
I will die and follow them
I will die and become
Some one else’s
Peripheral shadow

it is a strange happening - for a while I thought I was going mad, then I realised I was already mad. I should maybe wait until I can focus on them :-)

the people we glimpse in
(not out of, they didn't begin there)
the corner of our eye -
I've often wondered,
which eye...

Re: Peripheral Shadows
Having seen and talked to a ghost once. Anything is possible. Though I am convinced we live in a multi-verse where alternate dimension co-exist. I think the things we think we see are shadows from an alternate reality and are as unable to affect us as we are unable to affect them. If they were nefarious phantoms that could cause us to die we'd be dropping like flies... jj

it's certainly an oddity - they feel human, maybe just shy :-)

Wow, sounds scary. I think anyone in your position would experience the same fears. Hopefully they're coming around for a different reason... Another unsettling yet captivating write.
