End of Days
There is no end to the pain
So much pain yet no fuckin gain
Life is just a lie after lie, after, lie
Pain and lies is all that I have
Apart from the words that I write
When people stop reading
When people stop caring
About my words on my pages
I will bring about my own end of days
In spectacular fashion
Blazoned on Utube
A man writes his poetic epitaph
His last fuck you world poem
Before swinging from a rope
All live feed over a million hits
Half a million likes
For a poet, out of rhymes
A suicide event
To surprise everyone
Like anyone would
Ever give a fuck
So much pain yet no fuckin gain
Life is just a lie after lie, after, lie
Pain and lies is all that I have
Apart from the words that I write
When people stop reading
When people stop caring
About my words on my pages
I will bring about my own end of days

dark indeed David...feeling well described...
the first two lines...somewhat know what you mean...
if this truly be your thoughts, i for one hope you don't follow through...

it's not worth it, there'd be
a brief sensation and then
they'd forget - but as you
know, a good piece of
writing will linger long in
the memory...

Don't be so sure that an end of your days means an end to your knight. If there is a Hell, the pain stays and you lose the fight. Battle back and let your poems out number your demons.
We all have our demons and sometime we go away to fight the ones haunting our own dark corridors. jj

You're welcome David! I was thinking of using it as a inspiration for a new poem, but if you give me credit, lol... jj

This was really well expressed. Words can and do live on, even if only in the hearts of few.
I hope that each time you get lost beneath the pain the beauty of life always finds you again to pull you out of the darkness. I think it's natural to have these days of feeling this way as long as that's all they remain.

I agree - I also hope that the beauty of life is always there as a safety net :-)
