The Archer
You loved me once
Once upon a summer’s eve
With stars in your hair
And moonlight in your eyes
You looked at me as if
Each glance filled you
Up a little bit more
Each time our eyes met
You were sensitive
And sweet and your
Smile lit up the black
Space in my heart
Each day we whispered
Each night we met
Each time I felt pulled into you
Like a candlefly toward brightness
You loved me, yes,
And I loved you
Too deep for words
Too much for silence
As I watched September
Fall into autumn
You went away
You pierced my heart
Without even saying good-bye
Once upon a summer’s eve
With stars in your hair
And moonlight in your eyes
You looked at me as if
Each glance filled you
Up a little bit more
Each time our eyes met
You were sensitive
And sweet and your
Smile lit up the black
Space in my heart
Each day we whispered
Each night we met
Each time I felt pulled into you
Like a candlefly toward brightness
You loved me, yes,
And I loved you
Too deep for words
Too much for silence
As I watched September
Fall into autumn
You went away
You pierced my heart
Without even saying good-bye
