All Nighter
I don't remember how I met her.
She reminds me of one of the very few
close friends I use to have.
It is rare of me to confide in a female anyway.
I confide in myself.
That way, there's no gossip.
So , I told her that she reminded me
of a once familiar face.
She showed a slight interest in the name
then dismissed it for the next topic.
They kept talking.
The three of them.
I was just watching,
quietly.
I was thinking of an occasion
probably 5 years ago , or so.
They keep chatting,
like excited school children on a Friday.
He said to me....
You can sit closer to us if you want-
We don't bite.
The three laughed.
I laughed.
I decided to stay sitting where I was.
I was good in this spot.
I didn't mind.
They didn't mind.
More laughing
I decided that this time
was not going to be an
all-nighter.
I left quietly and I could still
hear them outside the door.....
having fun.
