In the Middle of the Night
I feel like I haven’t slept in days
Trying to overcome this haze
Walking around like I’m stuck in a maze
In the middle of the night.
Anxiety covers me in bumpy chills
Intoxication barely dulling what I feel
When you’re all alone it’s hard to get your thrills
In the middle of the night.
I toss and turn like the turn of the page
Each page blank with wisdom far from sage,
Creaking muscles and sore mind sinking in like age
In the middle of the night.
I don’t remember how to put up a fight
As I sit in the dark desperately searching for light
Demons clawing at my heart and red eyes with all their might
In the middle of the god damned night.
