A Drug Induced Family
One father was the one
Who impregnated my mother
And upon finding out of my existence
He took more and more hits
From the drugs he abused day by day
Cocaine, Heroine, and Alcohol
He hated my very being so much
He lost his will to live in time
And the day before the day
Of America’s Independence
He took his own life
While on a coked up rush
I'm sure that scared
My year old brother and sister
When they found him the next morning
The next father was the one
Who came into my life
Three years later after the other’s death
And with him he brought another addiction
Though luckily just from beer
You would be surprised how much
Beer can affect your personality
From a normally strict military man
To a military trained man pissed and fighting
For what only he wants and what he believes
I’ve seen him grab my mother by her collar
And shake her till she’s crying
Whilst screaming in her face like a sergeant
Yelling at his novice trainee
Even now when one of us messes up
Even at the slightest thing
He gets so amazingly pissed off
And who knows what he might do
I remember once
During a suicidal time of mine
I said I was going to kill myself
And he reacted to that
But unlike any other parent would
He yelled at me for an hour
That if I said something like that ever again
He was going to either punch me in the face
Or throw the kitchen table on top of me
His brother is no better than he though
When I was a mere four years old
He began smoking weed every now and then
But one day a year later
It became much more than that
While chilled from the weed
He had been smoking all day
He was offered something a little harder
A few lines of cocaine
And on his not caring buzz
He couldn’t say no
Not once but many times
Till he was hooked to the stuff
And one day when I was six
I was over visiting him
We had no idea
What he had been doing
He came in higher than a kite
And madder than an hippo with a hernia
Into the room with me
And my parents were away at the time
He sicked his dogs upon me
And chased me with a knife
Cause I asked if he was crazy
Because he sure looked it
If it wasn’t for the one dog
Whom I had been best friends with for years
I would have died that day
Because of the drug
So that is my history with narcotics
And other drugs as well
So I have no intention of trying
Cause I don’t wanna be like them
