Mother Mary/Holy Grail
Young Mary charmed her way through life
by learning how to please
She'd spend most nights flat on her back
or scraping up her knees
Mary Magdalene full of men
she'd let just anybody in
Though many knew she was a whore
some still maintained that she was pure
One day her life caught up with her
her lifestyle wouldn't last
So she resolved to find a man
who didn't know her past
A man named Joseph fit the bill
her past he did not know
But right before she had him trapped
her child began to show
Poor Joseph was a righteous man
but wasn't very smart
She said it was a miracle
and he took that to heart
Mother Mary full of jizz
and can't tell who the father is
She knew no man would dare come forth
so it must have been God, of course
On nights that could have been the cause
she gorged on wine and cheeses
So when this miracle came out
she named the baby Jesus
Mother Mary, holy grail
who put her body up for sale
The grandmother of mystery
has earned her place in history
by learning how to please
She'd spend most nights flat on her back
or scraping up her knees
Mary Magdalene full of men
she'd let just anybody in
Though many knew she was a whore
some still maintained that she was pure
One day her life caught up with her

So she resolved to find a man

I can't say I agree with its content for obvious reasons but it isn't my place to judge.
I like the structure and how some stanzas are abcb then others are aabb :)

This is amazing! Every line spoke more truth than every chapter of the bible. I love the humour but even more the blatant way you express how you feel about all that bollocks! I'm with you man, this ink is fucking awesome and you tell it like it is, well done!

Mary Magdalen and Mary the mother of Jesus were not the same person. Also the identification of Mary Magdalen as a prostitute is a conflation - the Bible in Luke tells of Jesus healing "a woman who had lived an immoral life" without naming her.

There are many references that do indeed suggest they are one and the same, I think like the whole book u have to read between the lines and not take it as gospel (pun intended) I could get into a big debate about this as I have spent my life studying many religions and happen to know the bible very well, that which is intended to be seen and that which is not noticeable to the average reader.
I say this is a good, accurate poem all be it not in good taste to those already blinded by ignorance. Nice try but stick to your own corner my dear!

Ha! Couldn't have said it better, myself. Though, I would have said it with a great deal less "finesse"

As far as Mary Magdalene and Mary, the mother of Jesus being the same person, I have read a lot in-between the lines that would imply that they were, though that is not the point I was trying to make. I was merely implying that a "virgin birth" is a bunch of bs. Somebody had to have penetrated the lying bitch, and I refuse to worship a fucking political criminal as if he were some sort of "Messiah"

I have spent over fifty years studying the bible. There is more than one Mary in the gospels. Mary of Bethany/Mary Magdalene washed Jesus' feet with her tears and the disciples griped, asking why He let a woman of such low rep touch him. Now why would they ask Jesus that if Mary Magdalene was his mom???
Ignorance is blind. I look at the logic.

"fucking political criminal" who healed the sick, caused the blind to see, fed the masses, commanded us to "love one another", and pointed to people to a forgiving God and told us man has likewise the power to forgive.
Cripes, why blast someone whom you do not know?
Bye Colt. May you find peace, baby.

Honestly, I never seen much point in studying it, as it's a work of fiction anyway. I do know that the Jesus depicted on the cross looked nothing like the actual Jesus (he was brown, and had short hair)
