Natural Woman
“ ..there's a place that I can see
where my baby's so close to me
close enough to feel the heat
wrapped all up inside these sheets.....” Tim McGraw, “Still”
She clambers from an old stepside truck
baseball cap worn real low
Straddling the seat of that old John Deere
Slow rolling it
right out the big barn door
She can plow a damned straight row
Work the stick shift of that old four on the floor
Yet there is something about that glide
In her lazy, bowlegged stride.......
........she really turns me on, you know
a makeshift shower
beneath a shady tree outdoors
Late in the evening
She steps out of her dirty, dusty clothes
Standing under the warm water
Just as naked as you please
Might not look like much to you
“But she's always a woman to me”
...when the moonlight's shining
I lay her body down
“and there's not another living soul around”
An old ceiling fan
spinning slowly overhead
“Lay lady lay”
In the middle of our old brass bed,
she's my desire.......
….....and I'm on fire
“by the dark of the moon”,
In her, I spill my seed
“The window's accusing the door
Of abusing the wall......”
…..my baby gives her man all the good lovin' he needs,
yes indeed
she don't need no damned Coach,
Micheal Kors
or Givenchy
Smooth as Black Velvet
naked, laying right here
next to me
she's wild and free
and as warm as a Summer Breeze
just as fine as "elderberry wine"
“natural woman”....
…...she's all I need
( ...a tribute to a sweet southern gal I know and all the "natural women" everywhwere )
