Humility Dwells

Regenerative seed
in a sunflower burst
rests in the womb
of another seed
smaller
whose innocence persuades
its blossom to close
round untouched flesh
beginning fruition
as a birth of honey
from live bee bustle.

And petals falling
blown onto some pond just still
float flotsam, green glint
to the bottom of pond-beds
in plush summer water
knowing their own glamour
invited to meadow-nestle
with solemn crusted oysters
working their royal luster.
