Stumbling around in darkness so deep my soul is screaming
Frantically searching for a way out of this despair
Twisting torment from past mistakes bogging my mind
Self doubt dragging me down to the bottom of this oubliette
Relationships falling apart like decaying driftwood
Detecting my defects obstructing something that CAN BE beautiful.
Identify someone who's believed they were nothing their entire life.
Believing myself to be mother-lode of all failures.
And then you appear....

Finding you, bumping into each other in the darkness,
Our searching souls, calling out for each other without knowing
Begging for attention, screaming for affection
Finding the love of my life, but she's in despair...
Raising her up, showing her the beauty she possesses
Proving to her that she's perfect, and struggling to do so
Battling the belief she has in other's destructive words
Casting the crippling anguish from her heart

Before you, all I could comprehend was the suffering of my past
All the abuse I have sustained, fighting just to simply survive
To be perfect for my fucking hypocritical family
Though the anger is there; wounds like razors across my eyeballs
I'm starting to see the future; that succeeding is still an option
Falling in love with you was surely never expected
Deep inside my heart, I knew almost immediately.
My thoughts, dreams, and desires begin to change
Ordering themselves as they gravitate to each of those stars in my soul.
