Cuddle With Me?

You asked.
I promised.
So here we lie,
limbs tangled,
My warm front
pressed to your warm back.
We talk until your words morph
into mumbled garble
and finally fade away.
You sleep in my arms.
You begin to twitch,
groan in your sleep.
Shhh, Shhh
It's my turn to comfort you now.
Shhh, Shhh
You turn, you wake.
Are you okay?
Pains

You pull me closer
and nuzzle into my neck
You sleep in my arms again.
You begin twitch again,
groan in your sleep again.
I worry as you pull me ever closer
Like a frightened child's doll.
All I can think is to hum.
Hum until you calm and relax.
I begin now to sing
Soft and slow,
low in your ear,
And your moans change
to something happy, relaxed.
I quiet.
You tense.
I sing,
Soft and slow,
low in your ear.
You sleep.
We cuddle.
