Friends come and go” but only true friends stay real with you till the end
Don’t be fooled by the love some profess when they hate you but pretend
Your friend is not your sister or brother sometimes you don’t share close ties
Your friend is someone who believes in you and tells you the truth without lies

Your friend can be a stranger but someone who you can trust with your life
Your friend is not someone who only shares your joy not moments of strife
Your friend is not necessary whom you both knew each other from childhood
Don’t be gullible to trust them just coz you both live in the same neighbourhood

True friends earn your confidence and trust not in words but genuine actions
True friends will always find time to attend to your needs even at odd situations
But some friends only remember you when they are in dire need of assistance
When the favour is granted they stay away from you, keeping a long distance

Some would never bother to reach out to you while you are alive with a call”
But when you are gone they write eulogies’ missing you on your facebook wall
Some smile in front of you like they care but behind you they plot your downfall
With true friends when you are short” you can stand on their shoulders to look tall

If you have friends who have been loyal to you; then you should let them know
Never hesitate to appreciate them with kind words of love “it makes a heart glow
Life is too short to leave some words unsaid” when we ain’t promised tomorrow
Let your friends know how dependable you are be their source of joy not sorrows

I know we are all mortals with fallible ways, full of pride and self contradiction
I sincerely wish to be truthful and honest to all my friends without hesitation
I wish to show you all how much I care coz you are the source of my inspiration
If I could always check on you every day, I would just to register my appreciation  

If I ever hurt your feelings, I hope you do find a place in your hearts to forgive
Life can be unfair & vague but knowing I’m not alone” gives me a reason to live
Saying “I love you” coz you’ve been real with me; is the gospel truth within
I’m just a soul who knows without you” there would never be me to begin

To my family, I owe much love and gratitude for raising me with good virtues
To you my true friends, let’s keep the bond between us to always continue
A wise man once told me “true friends, no matter the distance are never apart
I humbly confess you make my world go round and you are always in my heart
