Regrets of Misconceptions
I've worshipped you silently from an altar
built upon the rocky surfaces
of my heart
where I burn offerings of rose petals
and hopeful
daydreams
of reciprocation.
Sometimes in the haze
of self delusions
I tend to overstep,
overwhelm,
piling expectations
at your doorstep
unfairly.
Please know my intentions,
beyond the unconditioned
lies a purity
and respect
I long for you to have,
Please forgive me
for indiscretions.
I'll gather up my things
and scatter the ashes
of my needs
into the dusks soft winds,
the most important part for me
is to be
a better friend.
