little girl blue

She was just a little girl, so sweet
hiding bruises under stockinged feet
She wanted to be rescued so bad
her heart was broken and bleeding, so sad
they dressed her up, gave her hair a curl
took her black stockings off
brushed her hair till shiny and soft
when they were done with their very good deed
they gave her back, to the man who created her, his seed
those good doeers patted themselves on the back
but they retruned her to him, now her legs are black
He named her Melodi, but her heart has lost its tune
the scars are too thick, jaded are her wounds
She excises her heart and gives to every passerby
they've taken her wings, she can no longer fly
Dont call her out of guilt, dont call her out of need
Rip the bandaid and just watch her bleed
just as inteded, it will harden and scab
Distant memories that dont quite hurt so bad
twenty years later the fear of rejection
please see those walls are for her protection
Not one person caused the hurt and pain
It was the excision of her heart that deserves all the blame
She will build her walls
and alone walk in twisted halls
Dont feel so bad she has a beautiful smile
to her brown eyes it reaches once in a while
so give her a brick to pile on high
when you strangers meet her, give her truth, not a tall tale or lie
Remember she has a heart ecased in glass
though she laughs her heart is breaking so fast
