Saying Goodbye, Saying Hello
Standing at the shoreline
High above the sea,
Waving at the waves
Waving back at me,
Disconnecting
From this fairy tale;
Bittersweet
And surreal,
And I can't help but think
About finally seeing you;
After all this time
Can it really be true?
Will you recognize me
With my golden skin
And a soft, relaxed smile
You've never seen me with?
Will I still adore
The way you always smell
And can I still hug away
The pain of your week of hell?
Will you even have
A moment of your precious time
For a weary time traveller
Such as I?
Only time can tell that tale.
High above the sea,
Waving at the waves
Waving back at me,
Disconnecting
From this fairy tale;
Bittersweet
And surreal,
And I can't help but think
About finally seeing you;
After all this time
Can it really be true?
Will you recognize me
With my golden skin
And a soft, relaxed smile
You've never seen me with?
Will I still adore
The way you always smell
And can I still hug away
The pain of your week of hell?
Will you even have
A moment of your precious time
For a weary time traveller
Such as I?
Only time can tell that tale.
