Down Fall the Leaves Along with the Soldiers
Down fall the leaves along with the soldiers,
Too much guilt to carry upon shoulders,
Too much light seeping through the wall’s cracks,
More lies in the text than there are facts.
Shells go flying and ears begin to ring.
The cold of your heart starts to make your bones sting,
And as the stinging goes on you soon start to break,
Your insides deteriorating flake by flake.
You can still hear a beating but it isn’t your heart,
It’s just the truth coming out tearing your loved ones apart.
There’s nowhere to turn to and nowhere to hide,
The walls are closing around you and your lies.
