Ode to Papa Zeus

Ode to Papa Zeus

There was once a dog named Zeus
Who was like a bulldozer on the loose
Knocking into everything in his path
Hence the nickname of "Zeus the Moose"

A handsome little devil he was
He was quite the ladies man
Killing you softly with his smile
He had many an adoring fan

He played with his sister Suzie
And the lovely Venus too
They would bark, jump, howl and more
Oh boy what they wouldn't do

He knew he was the furry man of the house
He was always in the lead
Protecting all in the family
He sure knew there was a need

There would come those days
Where he would just be as lazy as lazy could be
But of course that would always be after
Playing with such intensity

He was with us for a little over 8 years
And not a day went by
That he didn't shower us with love
That was as high as the lovely blue sky

There would come the time
When he wouldn't move with such ease
But that didn't stop him
With his constant aim to please

He knew the love was there
As was shown to him every day
Cause he would acknowledge with a nod
Or lean up on you as if to say

"Mom and Dad
I love you so
But it's okay
You can let me go
Where I'm going
I'll be alright
Suzie is waiting
By the light
Don't you worry
Athena's still here
She's part of me
So I'll forever be near".

Thank you my furry angel Zeus
You will forever be in my heart
Binded by a love so strong
Nothing will tear that apart.
