The Crystal Palace
There it stands on the hill,
a spectacle for all to see,
giving many a thrill,
so grand it is,
oh' Paxton's marvel,
over there she stands,
The palace of Crystal,
so much joy it gave,
now she stands no more,
upon her garden grave.

Simple portrayal of its site.
I have visited Edensor Church in Derbyshire where Joseph Paxton is buried. His tombstone was once surrounded by railings which were removed by the church council for safety reasons - the same night as it had been done, the palace burned down.

Sounding the least morbid as I can... I am glad he passed in 1865, had it of been a year later, he would have witnessed the North Transept burn down, starting the palace's decline. He died with his masterpiece complete
