Didnt have to end this way

I lost it all, but iv given all i can
like the last wave crashing against the sand
like the wind breathing its last breath
like the sun setting on her chest.

I wait in horror as darkness unfolds
as im left with nothing to hold
like iv lost a grip on life
im fighting for every step

its to much to go on
to much to wait for dawn
to much to live in fear
so i shed a tear

I may have made a mistake
iv lost a perfect friend
but iv lost more then that
iv lost a perfect love.

On i go as the days do too
i continue to think of you
hoping the waves crash aginst the sand
