Monica ex (half life)
Her love had a half life of forty-three days
Before deteriorating into radioactive decay
His heart had a shelf life of two and a half years
Before falling apart in a cascade of tears
Their time together was held together with overtones
Of hesitation and increasing resentment
Until the man she once praised as her hero
Became the lead villain in the dramatization of her life
Each touch that once covered her in goosebumps
Eventually sent icy shivers down her spine
But the actress played her part
With convincing smiles and plastic love letters
And endless Farmville gift requests
He kept the napkin with her lipstick kisses
Until years later
And she kept his wireless router.
