loved ones and laundry
how many times will you wash your favorite T shirt?
if you hang it out the window for an hour after you wear it for a week,
is it clean enough?
how many times you yell at the dog for chewing the same shit?
before you smack him
who wants to be gary cooper?
who even says they are ever sorry anymore?
when i got the american bulldog/boxer
thought i could tie him to the laundry pole
but aluminum is aluminum
and they just don't make steel couplers anymore
so gramma's 1950 slap the shit out a carpet device
is now made of PVC and the dryer can be run by my tablet
still you call love what you call it
bleach,dye,pressure wash,ring out,repeat
texture is universal
the way to feel out how somebody put something there
and it might not have your name on it
but you found it and figured out
it might have been recently cleaned
just for you

you keep having faith in how clean that t-shirt is, because you did your work to clean it, maybe someone else did too, plus it's your favourite. it's familiar and still everything you need it to be, predictable or not. love a metaphor when it can go down so many rabbit holes. [:

your analogies drive in the point aloud, though you seem to have spelt out the ranges of 'harshallowness' felt in the bandwidth of 'love' in such unaffecting terms of a finesse texture so generalistic, that sounds all like a 'takeaway' perception of one's own selfgoodfeel from whatever exhibited. Donn know if I put that in a sensible way John, but your poetic intricacy in such writes always needs applause.. n i learn a lot frm you.

I'm reading this as one goes through the routine with the same cycles - infusing just the right chemicals to make it all clean again - our souls - bodies - minds.
But it's never enough - so we lash out - even at those who are most faithful to us.
New toys are brought in for age old questions but the underlying dirt and how it got there is just the same.

This is a whole other level of springtime fresh.
It says to me, how you take care of something is how much you love it. Yet, we're always protesting love for people we end up harming, because we don't know how to take care of ourselves.
