I thought I was done writing poems about you

When our heart breaks, we feel like we have nowhere to turn to.
We try to get as far away emotionally from the people that have hurt a pretty, little heart, because our heart needs to be protected.
The worse thing is when our former love sends us a message telling us they want to know how we’re doing, and they just want to talk,and somehow the conversation is about how we broke up.
“Do you still love me?” someone ends up saying…
How to answer that…
Are you still attached to the person or the memories?
All the things you used to love about your past lover are far gone.
The way they would stare at you like the wolf stares at the moon.
Looking at you with amazement, because you are the most beautiful thing there ever has been.
The way they would treat you. With care and delicacy, because you are the prettiest flower in the meadow and you need to be taken care of like you are the last living flower.
The only strong feeling that is left in here, in this heart that doesn’t know what love is anymore or so it thinks...is sadness.
Sadness that you will not make disappear by making  me laugh like you used to...with those kisses of yours that would land on my lips.
Tears in my eyes that won’t fall on your shoulder.
The many things I love about you are only visible in my memories.
I don’t know if I still love you, or if I despise you.
My heart doesn’t know what it feels when you’re on my mind.
I feel sad, and I still feel in love.
I’m the flower, so beautiful in your shining love.
But I suppose the sun isn’t coming out anymore.
