(working title only) Killing Your Own

I had to find a way to do away with those Justice boys. Now one would have thought namesakes such as that had a place on this earth, but not these boys. I ain't one to do away with anything that ain't called for and these boys called for it from the day they left my hearth.  Guess you can say they called for it at the moment of conception. Can't put that blame on them, it was destined to be in their blood for their Daddy was not right.

I knew the man weren't right just like the rest of the town knew, hell the whole county knew about him and his ways. I wasn't the first girl he had gotten into a family way either, I was just the only one to bring about children from what he done to me. I actually was taught to and made every effort to stay out of his way and avoid contact at all cost. Thankfully, the townfolks took pity on me after what happened for they knew it was through no fault of my own that we crossed paths that fateful day.

Momma had passed on about four years and I was struggling to finish high school and keep the house clean while Poppa worked the coal mines ten hours a day. My two older brothers had their own families and left the county before Momma passed on. Poppa did the best he could with me but he clearly didn't know about raising girls. I had been under Momma's skirt tails from the day I started toddling till the day I started schooling and then I fell into the world of books and learning. Momma dreamed of me going to college one day and having a better life for myself then what the hills and coal mines provided. Then she got sick. She got sick real bad. Before we knew what was going on with her, she was gone.
