Sanctuary
Your chest rises and falls against me,
fingers gently twitching against my side;
As I adore your sleeping face,
I know I couldn't leave you if I tried.
It hurts to love you this much,
so many emotions I can barely contain;
I'm distracted writing this poem ..
because outside I can hear the rain.
Pitter pat, pitter pat,
Do you feel me tapping on your cheek?
I get lost in you, my sanctuary,
When the rest of the world seems bleak.
I plant a kiss upon your lips,
and an 'I want you' in your ear
Before I curl up beside your body
And drift to sleep .. finally .. without fear.
fingers gently twitching against my side;
As I adore your sleeping face,
I know I couldn't leave you if I tried.
It hurts to love you this much,
so many emotions I can barely contain;
I'm distracted writing this poem ..
because outside I can hear the rain.
Pitter pat, pitter pat,
Do you feel me tapping on your cheek?
I get lost in you, my sanctuary,
When the rest of the world seems bleak.
I plant a kiss upon your lips,
and an 'I want you' in your ear
Before I curl up beside your body
And drift to sleep .. finally .. without fear.
