ST VALENTINE'S MEDLEY
I just went back quite a few years past and collected some of my songs on Saint Valentine's theme.
I find them all funny nowadays in the sense that feelings about people may change but general themes like this may not.
Happy St Valentines day to all poetesses, poets and song writers!

LIKE AN OXFORD SPIRE
I know... I'm not your Valentine,
I know I'm not, but you are mine,
I'm dreaming…
I'm dreaming like an Oxford spire,
I'm roaming…
I'm roaming cause my heart caught fire.
And as I watch
towards the sky,
I see my smoke
escaping high.
My dream for you will take me far,
It will come true, you'll be my star,
I'm roaming…
I'm roaming till this night is over,
I'm dreaming…
I'm dreaming that you are my lover.
And as I watch
towards the sky,
I see your smile
as you pass by.
I know... I'm not your Valentine,
I have confused your every sign,
I'm roaming…
All night long through Oxford shire,
I'm dreaming…
I'm dreaming like an Oxford spire.
And as I watch
towards the sky,
I see your signs
and I know why.

CHARLOTTE'S VALENTINE
Charlotte, my young and pretty friend,
don't worry kid, it's not the end,
if you don’t have a Valentine,
joint the club, just walk the line.
I've read once in Walter Scott
that love is torture when is hot,
look how much sorrow, blood and death
for "The Fair Maiden From Perth!"
But Walter Scott has got it wrong,
your heart commands, you go along,
till all goes wrong it's all a bliss,
though you regret in days like this.
St Valentine's is a cure,
or is an illness? I'm not sure,
St Valentine's is a curse
and so am I, also my verse.
Just hope for better days to come,
some times the pain will make you numb,
but don’t forget, it's not the end,
Charlotte, my young and pretty friend.

A TEMPO DI VALSE
(A Flower Of Your Likeness)
1
The little sweetheart I was in love with and used to keep her company,
that same little sweetheart wounded me very deeply.
Now I remember how much I was shaken by her blow
and I wonder, where did she find all such power?
Chorus
St Valentine's is coming,
and I would like to send her some flowers,
to a West London neighborhood,
anonymously, from a forgotten friend.
2
The little sweetheart that I was holding in the fingers of one hand,
that same little sweetheart had the edge of a knife,
and by playing in my fingers that little sweetheart like a toy,
I was cut in my carelessness and I'm raving from grief.
Chorus
I did not find for a song another fit theme,
how should I give her love and flowers?
Flowers with love's blood
and bleed again in my wound?
3
That dreamy little sweetheart, passionate, romantic,
would like to receive some flowers, and I don’t find it bad either,
But she would know that they are from me, she' d call me a "wanker" again,
should I send them then, or should I not? Which is the more bitter shame?
Chorus
How ashamed I feel of St Valentine,
If I don’t honour the memory of love!
But within this vast London
there is nowhere to buy some flowers.
4
The little sweetheart that I loved like the sun and like the clear sky,
that same little sweetheart wounded me very heavily,
St Valentine's is coming and I feel bitterness and anger
that I don’t dare to send her some flowers from my heart.
Chorus
Last year a love for danger
and this year a love for bitter songs,
she asked me on St Valentine's day
if the flowers were from me.
5
And I told her, "little sweetheart, I have flowers in my heart,
but it is a locked garden and you only have the keys,
I don’t send flowers anywhere, I keep them all for you,
and on every St Valentine's day I will dream that you still love me.
St Valentine's is coming,
what does it matter if I don’t send any flowers?
In all London flower shops
I did not find a flower of your likeness!"

NOSTALGIA
CHORUS
I know that you consider,
Saint Valentine's commercial,
To me this subject stays,
For ever controversial.
A
It's raining heavily tonight,
From "COOL CAFÉ" I watch the sea,
Like sea and land we used to fight,
Taking each other's loving free.
Like sea and land we used to fight,
In harmony we used to settle,
It's raining heavily tonight,
We are boiling in a different kettle.
In the Big South Weather,
We're as always together.
CHORUS
I know that you consider,
Saint Valentine's commercial,
To me this subject stays,
For ever controversial.
B
It's raining heavily tonight,
For us it's like it used to be,
I wonder what you're feeling like,
In this south weather far from me?
Like sea and land we used to fight,
In harmony we used to settle,
It's raining heavily tonight,
We are boiling in a different kettle.
CHORUS
Did it remain commercial?
Is there no love to celebrate?
Do you have someone special?
Or is perhaps too late?
In the Big South Weather,
We're as always together.
