Alone in his sepia space
Serenaded by the rumbling hum
Of old air-conditioning
And the chittering of plastic insects at his fingertips

Back bowed by the pressure
Of figures, sums and mean averages
Soul peppered with shot from scatter plots
Soul trapped between Venn diagrams

Intrudes a chiming distraction
A blue and white back-lit flash
And crazy faced words
Backed by ninja strike emoji’s

Knocking him backwards
In height adjustable release
His tumble temporary
Before being caught in her mobile network

While she downloads his response
He uploads into her cache
Maxing his RAM for her file allocation
Her solid state drive fused to melt down

Their energies a synergy
Of mundane murdering explosions
A cavorting collapsing star
Shaped by the distance between time and sun shadows
