Redemption
Right now, everything is as it should be.
I don't know if it's just me,
But I'm done lingering on what could be.
I used to be like a leaf, clinging..
Desperately hanging on the branch of a tree.
Now I'm more the delightful laughter of a child.
Bringing joy, my heart filled with nothing less than glee.
We all get hurt, and wounds can heal..
And mostly I'm way too focused on myself,
Trying to figure out how I should feel.
But I've found my balance,
I've finally got up, instead of always having to kneel.
Never backing down for nothing, ever again.
I'm finally done holding on to all that is fake,
And I finally appreciate all that is real.
