The Truth About Change

Hemmingway said the secret to write
is to write a sentence, complete and true,
and so, to test that his grand theory is right?
well, the pudding is to be found in the proof.

The only thing constant is change,
and that's never going to change.
We live longing lives of free range
and then die in a world full of strange.

There's a fire inside us that too many hide,
a drive to find happiness, hopefully in time,
before drowning when tears flow away with the tide,
happiness is found by actually getting on the ride.

So it might be time to crawl out of my head,
put some pants on and roll out of bed,
to go outside and cast my eyes to the sky,
and enjoy the shapes in the clouds passing by.
