Everything But Insecurities
My love for you is layered with insecurities all my own,
when I wrap my arms around you, I'm afraid I'll hold you down,
Every time you step away I reach, grasping at the air
until you come back into the room, having just fixed your hair
I'm broken, I know, but I'm trying to grow,
healing deep wounds from long, long ago,
subconsciously convinced I'll end up alone,
every time somebody doesn't pick up the phone
I sometimes get confused, and often act a fool,
doing stupid things, letting myself forget the rules
but you mean so much to me, I hope that's plain to see
My hope is that someday you will have everything.

Every time you step away I reach, grasping at the air
until you come back into the room, having just fixed your hair
