Daughters of Elysium
the daughters of Elysium
shimmer in the light
in waves of heat now rising
Sun shining oh so bright
fields of reeds caressed by winds
blowing on to shore
ocean deep with sky above
to where the mountains soar -
you are on my mind again
you are in my heart
joined we are forever more
even when apart -
it's paradise on Earth when you
sparkle into view
just a touch inside the hush
colours red to blue -
you are in the sky, the sea
the earth all dressed in green
you are in my thoughts, I'm free
awake I'm in a dream -
rippling waters sparkling splash
through the forests rush
the daughters of Elysium
dance in nature lush -

A beautiful poem, and one that strikes a deep chord in my heart, for it remind me of the place the Elysian Fields... or Elysium... has in my own spiritual thoughts and beliefs. I loved every verse of this poem you've penned, it is so very hard to pick a favorite line to speak of! It is all profound and wonderful to read. I totally had to comment on this to let you know how much I enjoyed it! Thanks for sharing such glorious work.
If you would like read one of my poems about Elysium, I recommend "Elysian Lover" it was one of my better poems on the subject. Though of course, that poem is of a very different sort than this one... even so, methinks you would enjoy giving it a read. Again, you penned a grand bit of poetry here! Great writings. :D
