Summer Passion

Memories and laughter
We thought would last forever,
now forgotten.
Passion turned
Into just another summer fling.

So many plans made.
So much time devoted.
All gone now.
Erased
And replaced.
It's just another summer fling.

I thought I'd found peace,
But where is peace in choas?
Where is love in anger?
We reached for eternity
And ended up
With just another summer fling.

We promised a lifetime,
Now we've moved on.
Same plans, same places,
Different hands, different faces.
Will you remember me
In her face, on her skin?

We thought we could ask
For nothing more.
Only to find
It wasn't enough.
It was just another summer fling.
