The Dreamer

I dream dreams of fog
Some nights, so thick
Breathing is impossible
Drowning in condensed Dihydrogen Monoxide
Some nights thin
Like the hovering mist
Rising above the morning ground
Filling my nostrils
With the sweet smell of dew

I dream dreams of gold
Some nights so bright
Seeing is disabled
Astonishing my humble self
Some nights of Pyrite
Fooling my ambitious self
Thinking I am wealthy
When what I have
Is nothing

I want the stars
But realize
The moon is all I may get
Humbled and Thankful
Despite my Dreams
Crashing
Like the shattered shards of broken glass

I crave the to touch the face of Him
But I may only feel
The refreshing rain
I long to look upon His face
But understand
I may only get to see
The rising fiery sun across the oceans blue and long face
I desire to hear His voice
But receive only the cries of a newborn
And the echoing thunder across the gray graphite sky

Dreams I dream
Reality I live in
Collide and Coalesce
That the touch of a woman
Is equal to
The pressing lips of Aphrodite
That the piercing of flesh
Tis equal to a broken heart
The sudden drop
The silent thud
The burning emptiness
That follows after

I dream dreams
That no mortal
Has not
Dreams of wealth
Dreams of power
Of good health
And of love

To tell the difference
From dream to life
Is almost impossible
Life itself
No more than a dream
A vapor
We live, blinded
We die
To regain sight
We live, dead
We die
To breathe once more
We dream, life
We die
To wake up and live.

As I the Dreamer hath dreamed
Of a Great Perhaps
I, the Dreamer
Have awakened
Within the dream of life
Sleep walking
Among the others,
Unblinded by reality
So that the Wind,
Is His voice
That the broken clouds
Releasing beams of light
And the Glowing moon
is His face
That the melting alabaster snow
Softly dissolving on my skin
Is His touch
That my dreams
Are life
And I, the Dreamer
Alive

After all,
A poem
Is only a dream
And its poet,
A Dreamer
Like me
